Q: What do you cover?

You’ll receive the benefits of a major medical insurance policy. These include coverage for inpatient and outpatient hospital charges; physician, surgeon, and specialists' fees; diagnostic and lab costs and much more. In addition to your comprehensive medical plan, you will also have coverage for lost luggage and trip interruption, natural disasters, acts of terrorism and a host of other benefits. On top of this, you'll have access to 24-hour emergency travel assistance and embassy referrals, as well.

Q: Do I have to pay a Deductible?

You can choose to have no deductible; or a deductible of $100, $250, $500, $1000, or $2500 per Certificate Period – it’s up to you.

Q: If I request an online quote will I be pressured to buy?

No, that isn't the way we do things here at Travelers Trust. We’ll give you an online quote straight away and we won't even ask for your name or email address.

Q: If I like the quote, how do I go about buying the insurance?

Once you have your quote, if you’d like to go ahead and buy the policy just complete the form underneath the quote and click ‘confirm order’.

Q: How long does it take before my application is approved?

We’ve designed the process to be as quick and simple as possible. Once you’ve completed the form and bought your travel insurance, we will email you confirmation and your policy fulfilment kit and that’s it – you’re insured and ready to go!

Q: Is pregnancy covered?

Certain complications are covered during the first 26 weeks of pregnancy. See policy details for more information about what's covered if you’re in the first 26 weeks of your pregnancy.

Q: What about sports coverage?

If you plan to take part in sporting activities such as mountain climbing or whitewater rafting, you'll be covered for eligible injuries and illnesses that occur from such participation during your trip. However, you are not covered for accidental death or dismemberment benefits during such participation.

Q: Can I get insurance if I have a pre-existing condition?

If you're a U.S. citizen younger than 70 years of age, you're covered for acute onsets of pre-existing conditions, but you must obtain treatment within 24 hours of the condition's unexpected outbreak or occurrence. See policy details for more information about what is covered.

Q: Is this insurance dependable?

Absolutely! The policy is underwritten by Lloyd's, the world's oldest and largest insurance market. They carry ratings of A from both AM Best and Standard and Poor's, so you can rest assured the company's financial strength and security are without question. A well-known and highly recognized leader in the accident- and health-insurance industries, Lloyd's provides coverage for millions of people worldwide.

Q: Can't I just buy travel insurance through a cruise line?

Although it is possible, it's generally safer to purchase travel insurance from a dedicated insurer. A major benefit of travel insurance is the protection of your investment should the travel carrier cease operations. If the cruise line went bankrupt either before or during your excursion, it's quite likely that any insurance you purchased from them might also become worthless.

Q: Can I buy medical insurance after my trip has begun?

Yes, but your coverage would be from the time you purchase your policy forward; in other words, it won't be retroactive so you would not be able to claim for anything that has already happened.

Q: If I cancel my trip, can I cancel my insurance, too?

Yes. You can cancel your policy coverage any time before it goes into effect and receive a full refund, no questions asked.

Q: How long does it take to get my ID Cards and Policy?

Your ID Cards will be included in the Confirmation email and you can print them out immediately. There will also be a link you can follow to download the Policy, as well as one that will allow you to log into your ClientZone.

Q: What's a ClientZone?

It's like having your very own control panel to manager your account. When you log into your ClientZone, you'll be able to:

  • - Extend or renew your insurance.
  • - Reprint an ID Card.
  • - Obtain a Visa Letter, as required by some embassies and consulates. You can also use it for the Schengen Visa.
  • - Study destination-, weather-, and travel-security information using our Travel Intelligence and Planning System (TIPS).
